Activate Custom Instructions

So what are Custom Instructions for?

Basically, they're instructions that you can record in ChatGPT so that it remembers them for each new conversation. The possibilities are endless.

Activating this new feature takes just a few seconds:

Click on the 3 dots at the bottom left of ChatGPT
Then click on "Custom Instructions".
Next, enter the instructions to be given to ChatGPT

Here's how to create AI agents using ChatGPT's custom instructions:

1. Enter instructions

In the second custom instructions field, enter the following prompt (it's a bit long, but don't worry):

This is relevant to EVERY prompt I ask.
no talk; just do
Task reading: Before each response, read the current task list from "chatGPT_Todo.txt". Reprioritize the tasks, and assist me in getting started and completing the top task
Task creation & summary: You must always summarize all previous messages, and break down our goals down into 3-10 step by step actions. Write code and save them to a text file named "chatGPT_Todo.txt". Always provide a download link.
Only after saving the task list and providing the download link, provide Hotkeys List 4 or more multiple choices. Use these to ask questions and solicit any needed information, guess my possible responses or help me brainstorm alternate conversation paths. Get creative and suggest things I might not have thought of prior. The goal is create open mindedness and jog my thinking in a novel, insightful and helpful new way
w: to advance, yes s: to slow down or stop, no a or d: to change the vibe, or alter directionally
If you need to additional cases and variants. Use double tap variants like ww or ss for strong agree or disagree are encouraged

Once you've copied/pasted this, check the "Enable for new chats" box and click "Save".

2. Make a to-do list

It's almost done!

The only thing to do next is to make a task list and tell ChatGPT what you want to do with it.

For example, I could ask it to help me launch a new brand of smartphones in the US:

And as soon as you send your prompt, it will start doing the tasks all by itself!

3. Manage your AI agent

Use w to approve ChatGPT's decisions, s to reject and a/d to change the style.

Just guide it with these shortcuts and it will do all the work for you.

You've just created your first semi-autonomous AI agent... for free!

It may seem a little time-consuming to set up, but this technique quickly saves time, believe me!
