Microsoft has just released its latest and greatest language model, Phi-4, and it's generating quite a buzz.

This model is incredibly powerful for its size, and the best part?

You can run it locally on your laptop, completely free of charge! Whether you're on a Mac, Windows, or Linux machine, Phi-4 is ready to unleash its AI capabilities right at your fingertips.

1. Download LM Studio

To get started, head over to lmstudio.ai and download the version of LM Studio that's compatible with your operating system.

It's a quick and easy process, just like installing any other software.

2. Download Phi-4

Once LM Studio is installed, open it up and navigate to the search section. Type in "Phi-4" and choose a version that suits your needs.

For Windows and Linux users, go for a GGUF version, while macOS users should select an MLX version.

Pro Tip: If you're working with a less powerful laptop (like me), opt for the "Unsloth" version of Phi-4. It's optimized for smoother performance on lower-end machines.

3. You're Done!

That's it! Once the model is downloaded, head over to the conversation section in LM Studio.

Select the Phi-4 model you just downloaded from the top bar to load it up.

Now you can start chatting with this powerful AI, enjoying total privacy and offline access.
